The first dogs I took as a pet were dachshunds. I liked them because even if they were small they had a bark that was larger than their size. Another reason I chose them was because they had short hair so I did not have to deal with hair all over the floor. Dachshunds are devoted animals but they hate to be left on their own. They show their resentment by chewing on things or peeing where they shouldn’t.
Doxie is a nickname for dachshunds. Doxie lovers are a different breed of dog lovers. They collect all things that have the picture or the shape of a dachshund in them. They will appreciate t-shirts or ref magnets that will remind them of their favorite animal. A very nice doxie lover gift that I once received was a big tote bag in patent emblazoned with a dachshund cut-out, complete with a real collar and chain leash.
