Dog leashes

Your pet dog may be the sweetest, most well behaved dog in the world. His manners may be beyond reproach but you will still need to get him a dog leash. In the first place, most cities require that dogs be leashed whenever they are in public. Junk the rule and you could be slapped a stiff fine. Dog leashes should be worn not just to avoid being fined. They are also important to keep the dog out of danger. He will be safe from traffic, going through garbage and getting into fights when he is on a leash.

Dogs need to be trained on how to walk with a leash. Start by attaching a lightweight leash on your puppy’s collar and just let him walk around with it. Do this over several days and when he is accustomed to the feel, you can start walking with him by your side. Make this a fun experience. You can start by saying “Let’s go” as a signal for the dog to start walking. Go a few feet and then stop. Your dog should stop, too. Offer her encouraging words to that she knows that she is doing the right thing. Practice this several times during the day. Teaching your dog how to walk without pulling will help both of you to enjoy your time together.
