A bored bird is at high risk for behavioral and health problems like biting and feather picking. These are the results of boredom when a pet lacks stimulation or attention from its owner. Dissolve this dilemma in your bird’s lifestyle by providing it toys that will keep it occupied most of the time.

Some good examples of toys for small birds are bird rope swings, ladders and tiny mirrors. For larger birds, choose toys they can manipulate with their beak, tongue and feet. Since birds like to chew their toys, make sure to buy items made from nontoxic wood or hardened plastic.
