Uses of Fish Tank Heaters

Ensure an even distribution of heat inside your aquarium. Use submergible heaters for fish tanks that can be placed flat along the bottom of the tank. The theory is that the warm water will rise to cause a mild circulation within the tank. This is necessary if the fish in your aquarium came from warm waters and the room temperature it is placed in is too cold.

Know that everything from water cleanliness to acidity and temperature will have an effect on fish just like everything around us affects humans. According to research, water temperature changes have a direct effect on fish’s immune system, respiratory functions, body organs, feeding, and breeding practices. In general, cold water temperature slows down a fish’s bodily functions while warmer water increases the rate.
